Automotive manufacturers rely heavily on the expertise and innovation of their core suppliers to provide cutting-edge designs. This reliance has become increasingly more important with the electrification of vehicles. Parts a manufacturer may produce include lighting, windshield wipers, and sensors for safer travel across diverse weather conditions.

When developing a new automotive control unit, engineers turned to TDK-Lambda’s GENESYS+™ programmable power supply series to meet their strict requirements. Specifically, they needed multiple high-current sources capable of delivering 0 to 20V. Their local TDK-Lambda salesperson recommended the G20-375-3P480 model. This power supply, rated at 7,500W, offers an output range of 0 to 20V and can deliver a 0 to 375A current. The 3-phase 342 to 528Vac input provides a seamless solution for their production needs and was therefore selected for easy integration into the manufacturing assembly process.

LAN (LXI compliant), USB, RS-232, RS-485 and isolated analogue voltage control interfaces are provided as standard on the GENESYS+™ series.

The chosen model is just 1U in height and has zero-stacking capability to save rack space. All models in the five year warranty series share common programming functions. The Virtual Control Panel also allows programming and monitoring unit(s) with or without front panel display.

TDK-Lambda offers a wide range of programmable AC-DC power supplies. Click here for more information.
