Continuous monitoring of emissions is essential for keeping many facilities and structures in compliance with the law and safeguarding the environment. This can vary from measuring air quality in a road tunnel to wastewater from a large manufacturing plant.

One method of maintaining detection during AC power losses is to use a high-voltage DC bus with battery backup. Tasked with developing one such system to supply 24Vdc to a number of sensors, a design team asked TDK-Lambda for assistance. The 50W rated PH50A280-24 and the 75W PH75A280-24 were selected. These power modules can accept a 200V to 425V DC input and are not reliant on a fully regulated voltage.
