The European Train Control System is being implemented to replace incompatibility issues with the railway network systems in Europe. This includes on-board and trackside signalling equipment.

Developers requiring a reliable DC-DC converter with a high input to output isolation voltage turned to TDK-Lambda. An input voltage range of 9 to 36V with a 5V 1.2A output was needed.

The PXC-M06-24WS05-A was sampled and designed into the system printed circuit board (PCB). The series has an input to output voltage isolation of 5000Vac to withstand the high voltage surges found on many rail systems. The product also has an industry standard pin-out and a size of 31.8 x 20.3mm. These encapsulated modules are ideal for both fixed and portable applications.
