TDK-Lambda’s RGB series of DC-DC buck (step-down, non-isolated) converters are specifically designed for harsh environments. A five-sided encapsulated aluminium case provides resistance against shock and vibration, reducing radiated emissions for simpler system compliance. The RGB modules can be mounted to a cold-plate to offer conduction cooling for sealed, fanless applications.

The RGB models accept either 9 to 18V, 18 to 32V, or 18 to 60V input to support operation from 12V, 18V, 24V, 36V, and 48V power sources. Three output voltage ranges are available. The 33A output model has an output voltage adjustment of 3.3 to 24V, the 45A model 3.3 to 18V, and the 60A model 0.8 to 8V. The wide input and output ranges can assist with inventory reduction programs, with one part number covering multiple nominal voltages.

With efficiencies of up to 98.5%, power losses are minimised, allowing the products to operate in harsh environments of -40oC up to +115oC case temperatures. Standard features include remote on/off, remote sense, and output trim. The full feature version adds adjustable output current limit, reducing stress on the input source, converter, and load in the event of an overload.
