6W and 10W models have been added to the popular CCG series of DC-DC converters. These board mounted products further extend the popular CCG series of isolated DC-DC converters by offering 1.5, 3, 6, 10, 15 and 30W rated models.

The CCG6 and CCG10 feature wide 4:1 input ranges to accommodate 5V, 12V, 24V and 48V nominal inputs. All output voltages – 3.3V, 5V, 15V, +/-12V and +/-15V – (like the CCG1R5 and CCG3) are available with either through-hole or surface-mount terminations. 

The CCG’s remote on/off function can be used to put the converters into stand-by mode. This function reduces the off-load power consumption to less than 0.1W, extending the time between battery charges on portable equipment.

The 6W and 10W share a common footprint of 19mm x 12.4mm (length x width), with a height of 11.5mm for the through-hole and 11.8mm for the surface mount models. The plastic case is not encapsulated, avoiding quality risks associated with silicone potting compounds during reflow soldering.

Production is highly automated and includes the use of sophisticated X-ray inspection to ensure that the components located beneath the power transformer have reliable solder joints. This helps increase production yields and improve field reliability.

The input to output isolation is 1500Vdc and the series is certified to the IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 safety standards with the CE and UKCA marks. The CCG6 and CCG10 addresses a large number of applications ranging from communications to industrial, including battery powered equipment.
