NDMA best trainee award given to TDK-Lambda UK Technical Support Coordinator
TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) is pleased to announce that Lauren Teeling was granted the award for best trainee by the North Devon Manufacturers Association (NDMA). Lauren’s business objective was to maintain customer technical support throughout the pandemic and, in addition, complete her foundation degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering through the University of Plymouth.
One of Lauren’s tasks was to participate as part of a team to create TDK-Lambda UK’s Critical Customer Product Change Notification (PCN) procedure. This involved reviewing all current processes and communicating this to customers to ensure they received the new procedures and were positive about the changes. “Lauren was instrumental in making this a success and showed great drive during the process, keeping everything on track,” said Geoff Wilby, Managing Director of TDK-Lambda UK.
Lauren has also followed a practical training plan for four months in the engineering department, which gave her a better understanding of products at the component level. This experience led to Lauren taking on the role of a STEM Ambassador, supporting practical STEM activities in local schools. She also developed a training presentation on products and customer applications/systems, and now delivers it to new starters to enhance her presentation skills. This training was so successful and well received that it is now given to work experience placements, helping students get enthused in pursuing a career in engineering.
