Programmable power supplies used to test fibre lasers

Posted by Martin on April 19, 2022

Fibre lasers offer an advantage over other types of lasers in that the light is delivered by a flexible cable allowing very focused targeting. Longer distances from the laser to the material to be processed can also be tolerated. Cables can be bent or coiled to save space.

Tasked with testing production assembled fibre laser diode systems, Engineers turned to TDK-Lambda for advice. Two programmable power supplies capable of being adjusted from 0 to 150V were required. The GENESYS+™ 1U high 5kW G150-34-3P400 and the 3U high 15kW GSP150-102-3P400 were selected with the ability to operate from a three phase 342 to 460Vac input.

As standard, all GENESYS+™ models are equipped with RS-232, RS-485, USB, LAN and remote isolated analogue interfaces for programming and monitoring. Other features include an arbitrary waveform generator and programmable slew rate control.

TDK-Lambda offers a wide range of programmable AC-DC power supplies. Click here
