TDK-Lambda announces the introduction of very compact, low power DC-DC converters
These new board mounted products extend the popular CCG series of isolated DC-DC converters by offering low power alternatives down to 1.3W. They feature wide 4:1 input ranges to accommodate 5V, 12V, 24V and 48V nominal inputs. All output voltage – 3.3V, 5V, 15V, +/-12V and +/-15V – and current model combinations are available with a choice of through-hole or surface-mount terminations.
Sharing a common case size of 15.7mm x 10.4mm x 11.5mm, they are housed in non-potted plastic cases. This avoids quality risks associated with silicone potting compounds during the customer reflow soldering process.
Production is highly automated and includes the use of sophisticated X-ray inspection. This ensures that components situated under the power transformer have reliable solder joints, resulting in increased production yields and an improved field reliability.
The input to output isolation is 1,500Vdc and the series is certified to the IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 safety standards with the CE and UKCA marks. The CCG1R5 and CCG3 addresses a large number of applications ranging from communications to industrial, including battery powered equipment.
