TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) announces that TDK-Lambda has donated £2,000 towards equipping and running The Earth Repair Shop community centre in Ilfracombe. The community hub was recently set up in the town to provide information, advice and support for helping residents lower carbon emissions, reduce waste levels, save on household costs and prepare for the impacts of the changing climate.
Alan Dykes, Financial Director, TDK-Lambda EMEA, formally presented the cheque to Cllr Netti Pearson at The Earth Repair Shop on Friday 12th March. “Since moving to Ilfracombe more than fifty years ago, we have become a cornerstone of the community, supporting initiatives such as these. We have a strong focus on sustainability and continuously strive to reduce the impact of our operation. Working together, we can ensure these initiatives percolate further into our community,” he concluded.
On receiving the cheque, Cllr Netti Pearson added: “TDK-Lambda has a long track record of supporting local initiatives and causes. We are proud and excited to have received such significant backing for our endeavours to tackle the Climate Emergency in our coastal corner of North Devon! This sizeable donation will enable us to equip the premises and fund our carbon and waste reduction campaigns. Thank you, good neighbour – let the work commence!”
Lifestyle Spring Clean week, which took place across Devon between 12-21 March, is another activity that aims to reduce people’s carbon footprint in a fun way while inspiring healthier, happier households.
