A typical application for the GXE600 series of 600W programmable power supplies would be in an automated, connected manufacturing facility – either as a programmable power source connected to a field area network (FAN) or in an integrated machine with a system controller.

The GXE600 has an RS-485 interface suitable for operation in a noisy, industrial environment. The advantages of an RS-485 interface (Modbus RTU protocol), over a PMBus™, is that it has good noise immunity and can operate with up to 1,200m long signal cables.
