Automotive test systems use twelve programmable power supply models

Posted by Martin on January 24, 2020

More automobile functions are now controlled by complex electronics, requiring intensive testing for reliable operation. As a vehicle’s battery voltage can vary significantly from cold start to full charge, programmable power supplies are used to test assemblies under all input conditions.

Requiring a large number of power levels and output voltages, an ATE (automated test equipment) developer for large automotive test systems chose 12 models from the Genesys™ programmable power supply series

The IEEE interface option was ordered as the ATE systems utilised an IEEE-488 bus. All models in the Genesys™ series have identical front / rear panel analogue and digital interfaces, simplifying integration.
