Laser treatment applied to the skin requires the use of chillers to reduce the temperature of the surrounding areas.  This avoids patient discomfort and improves the healing process. The same applies with laser hair removal treatment, in that cool air is applied to skin during the procedure.

Requiring up to 1000W at 15V, the TDK-Lambda SWS1000L-15 was recommended to a manufacturer of laser hair removal products. The specification of the SWS-L series was well received, which included output voltage programming, a low acoustic noise variable speed fan and signalling functions.  An isolated 5V output was derived using a CC-E DC-DC converter.
