Dialysis treatment is now widely performed in the patient’s home, when gentle doses can be administered over longer periods than in hospitals or medical centres. High Dose (HD) dialysis is also now being offered as home healthcare for patients requiring extended duration or more frequent treatment.

Designers of one such HD dialysis machine were interested in using the TDK-Lambda configurable XMS500 500W supply in a second programme. As home healthcare medical equipment has to be Class II (no earth ground) and acoustic noise has to be minimised, the Power+ Solutions team worked closely in conjunction with the customer’s engineers. A suitable solution was developed and included a custom enclosure to cut system cost and assembly time.
