Medical low power lasers use flexible fibre cables to deliver a precise beam of light for a number of applications including ophthalmology. This branch of medicine deals with the physiology, anatomy and diseases of the eye.

One manufacturer needed a convection cooled 12V output power supply rated at approximately 150W. They chose the medically certified, 200W rated CUS200M packaged in a compact 75 x 125mm (3 x 5”) footprint. TDK-Lambda was able to respond quickly with a sample and could provide short lead-times for production. To help with cable connections, the reverse connector orientation option was provided.
