TDK Corporation announces the introduction of medically certified RWS1000B/ME and RWS1500B/ME series of 1000 to 1500W AC-DC power supplies, further extending TDK Lambda’s 7-year warranty 50 to 1500W RWS-B range. These new models are targeted at medical, cosmetic laser treatment and scientific equipment requiring less than 300µA earth leakage current.
All RWS-B models operate from a wide-range input of 85 to 265Vac. The high power medical RWS-B series can operate in ambient temperatures of -20 to +60°C, derating linearly above 50°C to 60% load at 60°C. The units are available with 12V, 15V, 24V, 36V and 48V outputs, adjustable by -15/+10% to accommodate non-standard voltages.
Both the 1000W and 1500W models utilise screw terminal blocks with covers, rather than busbars. The output terminal blocks can be user configured for vertical or horizontal orientation for easy connection of the cabling. The case dimensions (W x H x D) for the 1000W are 127 x 63 x 198mm, and 127 x 63 x 261mm for the 1500W models.
The units are safety certified to IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. Input to output isolation is 4,000Vac (2 x MoPP), input to ground 2,000Vac (1 x MoPP) and 1,500Vac output to ground (1 x MoPP) for suitability with B and BF rated equipment. The units also comply with EN 55011 and EN 55032 conducted and radiated emissions, meet the EN 61000-3-2 harmonics and EN 60601-1-2 (Edition 4) immunity standards.
