Image Guided Therapy (IGT) uses multiple types of imagery to prepare, perform and follow-up on surgical procedures. This allows the actual surgery to be less invasive, providing more precise information to the surgeon before the first incision. Often the power supplies for IGT equipment are full custom designs, having requirements for very low electrical noise and full medical isolation with low leakage currents.

TDK-Lambda’s Power + Solutions team supported a manufacturer of IGT machines to develop a four output custom product that could deliver peak loads in excess of 2kW. The team had prior experience in the design of complex medical power supplies, so a platform product was developed that could be used across multiple applications.
