Air traffic controllers require reliable, high end displays to assist planes navigate the skies safely. Multiple displays are used by controllers, networked together to show in-bound flights, runway activity and planes taxiing on ground.

TDK-Lambda’s 24V convection-cooled, open frame CUS200M power supplies have been chosen to provide power to a new series of high-end displays used by air traffic controllers. Although the “green” aspects of the supplies – operating efficiencies of 94% and a low off-load power draw – was attractive, a small modification of the product was requested. TDK-Lambda’s engineering support worked with the customer and a non-standard model was developed.
