Climate chambers are traditionally used for testing products under extremes of temperature or humidity. New applications are now being found, where materials or finished products are climate-conditioned prior to assembly or use. These chambers can now be seen in high volume production lines, even for automotive part manufacturing.

As space is typically at a premium on a production shop-floor, overall equipment size is important. Smaller power supplies allow for more space to process materials and parts. TDK-Lambda’s RFE1600 power supplies are now in use in climate chambers, chosen for their very compact size. Measuring just 40.6mm high and 85mm wide, they offer very high power density for a 1600W output power supply.
