Security is an essential feature for many corporate networks, especially where financial transactions are being performed. Gaming machines are now being linked via wireless networks to accept electronic payments, rather than relying on wired networks. The wireless routers used also have to be very reliable as downtime can result in significant loss in revenue, in addition to poor customer satisfaction.
One manufacturer of wireless routers chose TDK-Lambda’s ZPSA40 series to power routers used in gaming applications. To reduce assembly costs, the /P version is being used, allowing the ZPSA to be mounted directly on the printed circuit board. Pins on the ZPSA replace the Molex connectors, removing the need for cable harnesses and improving reliability.
