For power supplies that operate in harsh environments, such as in high-reliability defence, automotive and aerospace applications, the electronic circuitry needs to be protected from moisture to ensure optimum operational integrity. The RWS-B series of single output AC-DC power supplies is available with a double-side PCB coating as an option.

When looking for an AC-DC power supply that offers high reliability and a universal input of 85 – 265Vac (47-63Hz) along with global safety approvals and additional protection from harsh environments, engineers need look no further. By adding the /CO2 suffix when specifying the model, the coating provides a barrier to both moisture and air-borne contaminates from the operating environment.

Available in five power levels between 50W and 600W, all models in the RWS-B series feature a 10 year e-cap lifetime (or greater under typical operating conditions) for high reliability and come with a 5-year warranty. They offer outstanding thermal performance for cooler operation over their operating temperature range of -10 to +70°C; the RWS50B, RWS100B and RWS150B models are convection cooled, whereas the higher power models incorporate an internal cooling fan.

Standard output voltages range from 5 to 48Vdc, delivering currents up to 100A. To accommodate non-standard system voltages, the RWS-B series is user adjustable by -10/+15% (+10% for 48V models). Regular features include over current and over voltage protection circuitry.

The TDK-Lambda RWS-B series offers curve B conducted and radiated EMI performance (EN55011/EN55022-B, FCC class B, VCCI-B) and is approved to a wide range of safety standards including UL/ CSA/EN60950-1, UL508 (on certain models) and carries the CE mark, according to the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives.
