Selecting a suitable point of load DC-DC converter for an FPGA has now been made easier with the new POL Power Guide from TDK-Lambda.

In this comprehensive, downloadable guide, a complete listing of available non-isolated POLs is provided. In addition to the previously announced DOSA compatible portfolio, new, higher power density converters are listed with current ratings doubled from the prior generation. New digitally controlled PMBus™ compliant (read and write) models are included, with output currents ranging from 35A to 100A – ideal for use with power hungry, high-performance FPGAs.

Furthermore, two sections detail the suggested current and voltage requirements for many of the Xilinx® and Altera® FPGA product families and the TDK-Lambda suggested converter.
