This exhibition was the first of its kind in North Devon, and although TDK-Lambda’s stand was designed to appeal to the primary school age range, it proved just as interesting to the teachers, parents and other young adults that attended. A high quality, self-manufactured, interactive exhibit attracted significant attention and quickly sparked interest. It was designed to demonstrate the effect when different currents are run through transistors and showcase the safety design of interlocking units and wiring.

“This allowed us to engage with children and young adults, start conversations about our products and ultimately get them thinking about a career in electronics,” remarked Anne Sutton, Training and Development Officer at TDK-Lambda UK. “A competition word search was held on the electrical components we use linking into the sample products on show. Company information packs and information on available careers we offer were handed out to attendees.”

Pupils, students, teachers and parents came from Beaford, Monkleigh, Goodleigh, St Helen’s (Abbotsham), Appledore, Pilton, Ilfracombe, Bluecoats (Torrington), Clinton and Great Torrington schools. Feedback from the attendees was very enthusiastic, and included “the best day ever”, “the employer’s stands were amazing” and “I already want to come next year!” TDK-Lambda will be also be exhibiting at Petroc on March 16 – 17th, and in Exeter on June 29th, 2016.
