Lidars combine laser focused imaging technology with radar to calculate distances by measuring the time for the signal to return. They are used for atmospheric research and meteorology but also, when fitted to aircraft and satellites, carry out surveying and mapping. One lidar equipment manufacturer selected the HFE series of AC-DC power supplies from TDK-Lambda because of their extremely compact size and light weight. The manufacturer also appreciated TDK-Lambda’s technical support team’s quick response rate during the design phase.
