Downhole telemetry systems are used for the control and transmission of data from inside a borehole, where there is a submersible gauge, to the surface during drilling operations. For this piece of equipment the manufacturer selected the Genesys™ programmable DC power supply from TDK-Lambda, for its extensive safety features, including user-selectable Safe-Start and Auto-Re-Start options and the ability to deliver an accurate voltage to the load over an extremely long cable length.
