Active Corrosion Control
Bridges, ships and offshore wind turbines are three examples where the prevention of corrosion of the structure is very important and greatly reduces long term operating costs. Instead of using the traditional passive ‘Sacrificial Anode’ method, a specialist firm in active corrosion control techniques selected the SWS-L compact AC-DC power supply from TDK-Lambda. By having tight control on the voltage and the technical support from TDK-Lambda, a reverse current to that generated from corrosion is injected into the structure to protect it.
