TDK-Lambda Corporation (President : Yoshiaki Hirota, Head Office : Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a group company of TDK Corporation, has entered into a non-exclusive, worldwide license agreement with Power-One, Inc. (Nasdaq: PWER) to license Power-One’s Digital Power Technology (DPT) patents.

DPT applies to DC-DC Board Mount Power applications in information and communications technology and industrial applications, where board functionality densities are increasing and the power management solutions required to drive, control and monitor FPGAs(*), ASICs(**), DSPs(***) and other semiconductor devices are becoming more and more complex.

DPT drives increased system efficiency, improved design flexibility, faster time to market, decreased footprint size and lower system costs. It also enables telemetry capability, providing remote reading and writing via serial bus commands to access critical information including current, temperature, voltage and start-up control. Telemetry allows the system to accurately monitor and control its power consumption, functional performance and thermal profile, enabling designers to easily engineer key features such as system optimization, fault detection and predictive maintenance features into their end products.
