Financial institutions can now print and provide a replacement using a highly secure instant issuance card printer in their branches. Bank staff can produce these cards with the security chip for PIN and contactless payments.<\/p>\n<p>Card printers often use an AC-DC 24V power supply to run the print heads and motor drives but require 5V for the control board ICs and processors. Developers of a new secure card printer required a 30W DC-DC converter that would operate from the 24V motor supply and deliver a clean, regulated 5V output.<\/p>\n<p>The engineers contacted their local TDK-Lambda salesperson, who suggested the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emea.lambda.tdk.com\/ccg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CCG30-24-05S<\/a>. Its compact 25.4 x 25.4 mm footprint takes up minimal PCB space, and the six-sided shielded case reduces radiated EMI, which may cause disturbance to the electronics.
