These filter modules provide protection for DC-DC converters\u00a0against input voltage surges and spikes through the use of active circuitry. The FQB MIL-COTS series is designed for the harsh environments found in 28Vdc nominal input vehicle and airborne applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The filters have high differential and common mode noise attenuation, simplifying\nsystem level compliance to the MIL-STD-461(F, G) standard. The module\u2019s surge\nand spike protection also assists qualification to MIL-STD-1275(D, E) and\nRTCA\/DO-160G (Sec 16-18). Qualifying testing is consistent with MIL-STD-883F\nand MIL-STD-202G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FQB has an operating input voltage range of 8.5Vdc to 40Vdc, and can\nwithstand transients of up to -50 to +210V. Additionally it provides reverse\ninput, under\/over voltage and over current protection. A remote on\/off function\nand an open collector DC Good \/ Fault signal is fitted as standard. Vehicle\nbattery drain is minimised by a no-load current consumption of typically 3mA,\nwhich is reduced to just 1.5mA when the remote on\/off function is initiated. The\ntotal DC resistance of the filter is typically 30m\u03a9, further minimising power\nlosses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FQB filters have&nbsp; standard\nproduction screening (-S suffix) and a baseplate temperature rating of -40\u00b0C to\n+115\u00b0C, or enhanced screening (-M suffix) and an extended temperature rating of\n-55\u00b0C to +115\u00b0C. Enhanced screening includes functional testing at high and low\ntemperatures and a 96 hour burn-in period with temperature cycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PCB mount FQB is cooled using either an industry standard \u00bc brick\nheatsink, or conduction cooled via a cold plate. The non-flanged package\nmeasures 60.6 x 39 x 12.7mm (L x W x H) and the flanged version 60.6 x 55.9 x\n12.7mm.
