TDK-Lambda UK is proud to have supported Ilfracombe Academy in the Young Enterprise initiative again this year. The \u2018Save our World\u2019 team of young entrepreneurs won the local and regional finals to earn their place at the UK finals, which was held in July.<\/p>\n

Ilfracombe Academy ‘Save Our World’ Young Enterprise team<\/p><\/div>\n

The collaborative project between TDK-Lambda, Ilfracombe Academy<\/a> and the Young Enterprise<\/a> (YE) initiative started in September last year with year 12 students. They were challenged to come up with a viable business initiative.
\n<\/p>\n

The \u2018Save our World\u2019 team chose an environmental theme, creating a book to help parents educate young children about the danger of plastic pollution within the oceans. The first book published follows the adventures of Peter the Puffin, who saves the world one day at a time by raising awareness about the environment. <\/p>\n

With this project, the team won the local Young Enterprise trade fair, held in December 2017. The second book, which features Simon the Seagull, got them to the YE regional final in June, which they also won. The team also received a special award for outstanding achievement from the North Devon Manufacturers Association<\/a> (NDMA). <\/p>\n
