Laser cutting machines use 60V 1000W power supplies

Posted by Dulcie on November 9, 2023

Using high power lasers for material cutting is now widespread in many industries, particularly for low volume manufacturing. Laser cutting equipment manufacturers typically procure the laser from one source and the power supply from another.

Tasked with developing a new laser cutting machine requiring a high quality 1000W power supply capable of providing a 60V output, engineers turned to TDK-Lambda. Reliability was paramount as their company has a well-established reputation for building high-quality equipment.

The 1020W rated SWS1000L-60 was offered and selected for the project. The power supply has a variable speed fan for quieter operation, can operate in ambient temperatures of up to +74°C, and has been tested to the MIL-STD-810-F shock and vibration standard. The output voltage can also be programmed over a wide 20% to 110% range.

TDK-Lambda offers a wide range of chassis mount industrial power supplies, click here for more information.
