Aerospace test system uses rugged MIL-spec DC-DC converters

Any aircraft, civilian or military, flying in shared airspace needs to meet civil aviation safety standards. Large amounts of data are often gathered, analysed and transmitted by planes performing research and other tasks. This usually necessitates that a data bus is installed. That equipment must also be tested to ensure compliance with the relevant standards.

A manufacturer of avionic test and measurement equipment needed DC-DC converters and filters that complied with a number of MIL standards, including RTCA/DO-160. Contact was made with TDK-Lambda, a preferred supplier, and the application engineers recommended the FQB filters and the HQA converters.

The 20A-rated FQB filters contain active suppression circuitry to block input voltage surges and transients, and are designed to work with the HQA85 DC-DC converters, simplifying compliance with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-704.

TDK-Lambda offers a wide range of isolated and non-isolated DC-DC converters and filters, click here for more information.
