Magnetic Resonance scanners are regularly used by radiography units in hospitals to examine patients. As they do not use any ionizing radiation, they are often preferred over CT machines. The electronics in MR scanners requires multiple low noise outputs, and the power supply design is quite complex, often requiring a full custom design.

TDK-Lambda has produced a number of medical power supplies for these types of applications, and because of their experience and knowledge was asked to develop a new low earth leakage current design with over 20 outputs. The 700W product even features a programmable logic device interface via fibre optics.

TDK-Lambda offers a wide range of standard and custom Medical Power Supplies for healthcare applications – click for more information.
