Powering biomedical devices for neurovascular treatment

Posted by Dulcie on October 19, 2016

Many skin disorders can be treated using a neurovascular approach through the use of electrodes attached to the body. As this equipment can be used for home healthcare, nursing homes and clinical, the AC-DC power supply should conform to the IEC 60601-1-11 safety standard. A designer and manufacturer of neurovascular treatment products chose two of TDK-Lambda’s medical products for their latest series of equipment.

The new 65W DTM 65C-8 external (adaptor) power supply has the latest certification for home healthcare, including a Class II, 2-wire input (requiring no earth ground connection) and is providing the DC power from the mains input.

The 6W PXC-M DC-DC converters were chosen because of their 5,000Vac input to output isolation and medical certifications.
